SLC – Alberta

Welcome, Bienvenue, Tansi, and Oki to all Alberta Seniors

We acknowledge that we live, work and play on the unceded territories of Treaty 6,7, and 8. We honour all First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples whose footsteps have marked these lands, and with whom we strive for a meaningful allyship, strengthened through recognition of Historical Truths and Heartful Reconciliation.

The Senior Liberals’ Commission of Alberta SLC(A) is a group of Alberta Seniors who share a common vision of what Canada can be. SLC (A) is a democratic platform that works collaboratively in Alberta and nationally with other Liberal Provincial and Territorial Commissions.

Seniors over the age of 60 years, who are Registered Liberals in Alberta, are automatically considered members of the SLC- Alberta Section.

The SLC(A) board includes members from age 60 to 97. Seniors issues are diverse and vary significantly. We strive to advocate for, and support all Seniors.

Together, let’s make a difference by sending our voice to not only the Federal Liberal Party, but also to the Government of Canada. We invite you to participate by joining our SLC(A) with your experience and voice.

The following are ways that Alberta Seniors can become involved: .

Electoral District Association (EDA) – a Senior Representative position exists in all EDAs. Our goal is to have a Senior Representative in each of the 37 EDAs.

Senior Liberal Alberta Policy Committee (SLC(A) PC) engages in developing and submitting policy resolutions with fellow Senior Liberals. These policies may be moved forward and voted on by fellow Liberals. Several previous policies from SLC(A) members have become Liberal Party Policy.

Senior Liberal Commission Board SLC(A) – become a member & contribute to monthly Zoom meetings. We welcome Seniors of all ages, your contribution is important.

Volunteer for local Liberal events, meet Liberal candidates, make phone calls, attend webinars.

Consider becoming a candidate for the Federal Liberal Party (LPC) – we need Senior Liberals to consider running for office.

Our SLC(A) Board is always looking for individuals who would be interested in a role with Alberta Senior Liberals. Becoming involved with SLC(A) is an opportunity to meet and become involved with Registered Liberals locally, provincially and nationally.

It’s important to note that your membership in the Liberal Party of Canada must be renewed every three years. If you are at all unsure about your registration status, it’s easy to fix, at no cost. Just sign up again at https://liberal.ca/register/ .

If you’ve previously unsubscribed from LPC emails and missed our Commission communications and invitations to informative virtual events, you can easily re-subscribe by contacting assistance@liberal.ca to get your address back on the list.

Seniors make a significant contribution in Alberta. Your voice is needed and will be appreciated.
